When you’re crushing on someone, you can’t get them out of your mind. You think about what they might like, where they might have fun, and whether or not they’re destined to be your one and only. However, if you’re anything like Aimi and Nami in Kirio Fan Club, then you might have some issues when it comes to your means of fawning over someone. I mean, would you consider someone thinking of how their crush would fart as being able-minded?

Aimi and Nami are friends, but they are also rivals. Both of them have the hots for Kirio, a classmate that this manga is only vaguely showing. You see him talking with the two main leads, as well as hanging with his friends. But other than the back of his head, you don’t see the visual part of Kirio that Aimi and Nami are smitten over.

That’s not to say that these two friends are shallow enough to love Kirio just for his body. No, in Aimi’s case, she loves Kirio’s pancreas, mid-intestine, and liver too! Don’t fret, she’s not the daughter of Hannibal Lecter; it’s just her way of showing that she loves everything about Kirio. Nami isn’t as normal as her gal pal, with her envisioning her crush picking his nose after having a nosebleed in class. (Spoiler alert: it was allergies all along!)

The humor in Kirio Fan Club is weird, but it’s definitely laugh-out-loud silly enough to not be creepy. A great example of this involves Aimi and Nami watching Kirio play soccer. The two of them claim that Kirio loves them, with the number of his jersey being their means of proof. It involves a lot of math and number switching, to the point where you can’t help but call these two delusional for thinking Kirio likes them. But man, is it funny to watch unfold!

But regarding Kirio, there’s a hint that he may be watching Aimi and Nami from afar too. In one chapter, he and a group of friends are walking home. When they spot a couple of cats, Kirio automatically thinks of his two biggest fans, especially with the way they behave. When pushed to reveal which of the two he prefers most, Kirio runs away without giving a proper answer. So now, the question is, “Does Kirio have a fan club for either Aimi or Nami?”

God willing, readers won’t call Kirio Fan Club relatable. If your fantasies about the one you love are on the same level as Aimi and Nami, then you may need to seek help. But if you’re reading this manga and thinking about how hilariously dumb these two are, then you are on the right track. Kirio Fan Club has plenty to laugh about, and while it’s not the strongest new rom-com to come around these parts in a while, it’s certainly the most unique.
