It’s been almost two decades since Jacqui Hunt stepped behind the mic and unleashed her devoted desires to the masses. But now, with excellent accompaniment from her musical partner Brian Conolly, the former Single Gun Theory frontwoman has returned with Desiderium, an album that haunts its listeners whilst comforting them at the same time. The record takes its name seriously, with a feeling of longing for something that’s unobtainable flowing through its eleven tracks. Yet despite its hopeless journey, Desiderium looks at the sky and deals with loss, grief, and acceptance for the planet’s changing times.  However, never does it give up on itself; it instead finds new reasons to march forward. And now, Jacqui Hunt asks you to follow her here towards today’s Shameless Tuesdays.

A cape, a key, a candle

This is a playlist of songs that have had a multitude of wears by me in recent times. Tuning the key of my focus as a song can do. Some gentle tracks and some dramatic tracks as a capes tend to be. Imagine the cape is long enough to entwine and cocoon, or wide, open and billowing in slow motion, then falling, grounded as a safe landing place to rest, while enticing as a matadors dance.

The key is to listen, the candle is the life force, the voice.

I have slotted some of my tracks from my new album “Desiderium”, and tracks from my past work with Single Gun Theory into the mix. Fusing nostalgia with the present, this is the essence of this playlist, and my new album “Desiderium”. The playlist also ends with more dance orientated tracks as does my album, moving through intimate moments and breathing space for reflections with pivotal clarity symbolic of emotional shifts.
