There’s something brewing within the streets of Jakarta, and it tastes of absinthe and…maybe peach schnapps? I don’t how else to describe the sounds of The Whitest Blackout, the debut album from GH0$$ and the follow-up to their 2017 EP The Blackest Whiteout. However, I can absolutely say that it oozes with badassery in every single one of its tracks. From the dark Western sounds of “2N8” and the groovy Madukina-featured “Break” to the devilishly jazzy “666” and the afterparty saunter of “Bridges”, GH0$$ wears their sunglasses at night and dominates their surroundings with ease. In other words: The Whitest Blackout is one cool motherfucking album! But before it’s lights out, GH0$$ have one more thing to slide into the tape deck: this week’s Shameless Tuesdays!

Here’s what GH0$$ has to say about this week’s playlist:

“This playlist maps the sonic coordinates behind GHO$$’s latest album “The Whitest Blackout”: a collision of trip-hop, industrial decay, abstract hip-hop, dub, post-rock haze, and nocturnal psychedelia. It’s less a list of influences than a shared atmosphere, music that moves through smoke, concrete, static, and empty streets at 3 a.m. These are the textures, moods, and emotional frequencies that define the album’s world: heavy but spacious, intimate yet alien, where beauty emerges from distortion and the darkest moments still pulse with warmth.”
